Favorite Sensitive Skin Baby Products

I just wanted to start off by saying that I am not being paid to promote any of these products. None of these companies are my sponsors (Although I wouldn’t mind if I was compensated in the future for name dropping, ha-ha.)

My oldest son has always had very sensitive skin. From the moment he was born, we have been battling eczema. It was so severe when he was an infant, that we even needed to use a steroid cream to help prevent it from thinning and cracking more. Now that he is five, it has improved greatly, however his sensitive skin still has moments that it does not like what it comes in contact with.

Listed below are some products that have worked great for him. We tried other brands of these items, but most others caused some form of irritation or weren’t as good in terms of quality. If you have a little one with sensitive skin, I hope these help you all as well.

Pamper’s Swaddlers

This diaper brand has been amazing for him. It has never given him a rash, unless it rubbed on his leg too much from movement. And it has never leaked on us or left white reside on him, like some other brands. Specifically, the Swaddlers have been our favorite. Even when it was time to potty train, he was in Swaddlers because they never caused irritation. Plus they feel more like cloth instead of plastic, and we absolutely love that!

Vaseline

My little one has hardly ever had a diaper rash. I always try to change him as soon as he goes, to prevent irritation. But when he has had a bit of a rash I have found that Vaseline is our best friend to combat that. Some other products, like Desitin work well, but I hate the feel and smell of it. Vaseline has also worked well as a skin protectant when his skin seems dry or his eczema seems to be flaring up. It provides great moisture to the effected areas.

Dreft

This detergent smells amazing and is a great, affordable line for babies with sensitive skin. It has been washing the clothes well and has not affected my little one’s skin at all.

Johnson and Johnson’s Extra Moisture Bath Wash

This head-to-toe body wash has been very gentle on my son’s skin. He has broken out to other soaps, but not this one! It creates a rich, creamy lather that smells great and does not dry out the skin or hair.

If you have been trying different products for your little one’s sensitive skin but not finding any good solutions, I hope this list helps. If your baby has known allergies, make sure to check the labels and speak with your doctor before trying new products. Even when given the okay, try testing the product on a small section of the skin to check for any reaction.

If you find other products that you love and work, let me know! I’d love to learn and share with others.
